New venue Garsington Opera

May

We are delighted to have been appointed as lead architects for the delivery phase of this exciting £11m project, which will create a fabulous new arts, performance and rehearsal building for Garsington Opera on the beautiful family estate of Wormsley, in rural Buckinghamshire.
The new build venue is set within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, replacing disused agricultural buildings. The new buildings make use of the materials that are typical of the Chilterns vernacular – brick and flint walls, dark stained weatherboarding and plain clay roof tiles, together with a large green roof. Performance spaces, rehearsal rooms, wardrobe workshops and catering are among the range of accommodation being delivered by this project.

Conamar have secured the contract for the works and BCR Infinity Architects will lead the design team through the technical design and construction phase, working alongside the concept architects NBW, Momentum Consulting Engineers, BB7 Fire Engineering and AWN Acoustics.
