Project Details

Military Sales current premises provide new US Specification vehicles to the active duty military, civilian employees stationed outside the United States. The business has expanded over the years and sales have risen accordingly. Consequently it was felt that it is time to bring their Lakenheath Showroom into the 21st Century and provide their customers with the high specification environment required to compliment the brand of vehicles they are selling.

The Audi, Volkswagen and Toyota brands are familiar to everyone in the UK, Military Sales provide new US Specification vehicles from these marque’s to the active duty military, civilian employees stationed outside the United States.

It is proposed to upgrade the existing showroom externally, to include the removal of the existing shop front, and installation of a new modern Bi-Fold Door shop front set with in new Insulated Aluminium Cladding Panels providing a new look façade with built in internally illuminated signage to enhance the visual impact.

Furthermore it is proposed that the existing showroom will be completely refurbished and modernised throughout to provide a modern high specification finish that will complement the cars which will be displayed within the showroom; and to provide additional upgrades to the building fabric at the same time to improve the thermal performance of the walls, glazing and roof making, the premises fit for purpose in the C21st Century and more sustainable.

The showroom and shop front is the most prominent part of the proposals, and are located at the front of the site within the main parade of shops and forms the focal point. The showroom is an important part of the dealership, not just as a space to display new cars for sale, but also by land marking the site to customers from the middle distance and highlighting the entrance of the dealership.

To the front of the site, it is proposed that the existing shop front is remodelled providing a welcoming and eye catching façade, which provides unimpeded access to the showroom. Vehicles will be displayed towards the front of the showroom, and face customers as they enter through the new glazed lobby within the remodelled shop front. To the rear of the showroom are private offices, both for specific management functions, such as sales or business manager, and also private or confidential discussions. Likewise the external display area is to be enhanced to replicate the branding requirements of the marques and provide a coherent and holistic design across the site.
